Saturday, December 26 – It sucks when you find a nice hotel and then you need to move. That’s what happened to us tonight.
Our hotel – Villa Siem Reap – was perfect. It was a boutique hotel with clean rooms that was located only about a 3 minute walk from the main bar strip. But we knew going in that they were fully booked on the night of December 26th. So after we finished our tour, we moved over to the new Tara Angkor hotel – a beautiful, 5-star hotel with a fantastic swimming pool.
In all fairness, the hotel was lovely. But what it offered in luxury, it lacked in personality. It felt too sterile and too far removed from the little town that is Siem Reap. So despite how nice it was, we were still disappointed.
Gosh. We’re so picky.
